From Paris To Tehran – The Forgotten King: The Fascinating History of Iran, From the Persian Shah to Ayatollah Khomeini’s Revolution (Middle Eastern Politics & Biographies) by Ozias Marcovici is basically the story of Iran. If you have any interest in history, power, politics, turbulence, or Iran, then this book is for you. In fact, in that case, it becomes an important read for you. The farthest era this book touches is 559-529 BC when Iran was under the emperorship of Cyrus II. The title of the book relates to one of the most unliked yet powerful dictators of that country. It is none other than Ayatollah Khomeini. This shrewd dictator came to power in 1980. In fact, he is one of the rare entities who were criminal and religious at the same time. As a matter of fact, he was a hard-core dictator, shrewd, criminal, hypocrite, liar, manipulator.

Book Review: Leave Me Alone by Orit Yogev

Leave Me Alone: A Glance into Obesity, Physical Overweight, and the Endless Struggle to lose weight by Orit Yogev is about eating disorders and beyond. If you go to contents after acquiring this book and read titles of the chapters, you will find them quite interesting and innovative. It becomes quite serious when you are obese and then too uncaring about your health. That can be a very scary situation. What if you had a long journey with doctors, nutritionists, psychologists, and consultants; and everything has been ineffective. Whom to blame for this situation of yours? Who is responsible for bringing you to this juncture of failures? Life is not about acting on other’s plans. It is your life, so you need to prepare your own plans. Especially when it comes to health. Coming to a situation of being so helpless and feeling sorry for yourself is worse.

Book Review: Withering Leaves by Sam Cohen

The title Withering Leaves is quite poetical and philosophical. There are two sections in this book by Sam Cohen. The first section title is ‘Leah’ having 8 chapters. The second section is ‘Rachel’ having 17 chapters. There are three main characters in the book. Kobi falls in love with Rachel. Rachel is an English actress. One fine day, Rachel vanishes from the life of Kobi. All Kobi gets is a departing letter from Rachel. And then there are no traces of Rachel. Kobi is never able to forget Rachel despite passing of 20 years after this incidence. And then another woman comes in Kobi’s life. This is Leah, his new neighbor who falls in love with him soon after meeting him. By now, Kobi is in his old age. He is 60 plus. A leg injury sticks him to a wheelchair. The life changes its meaning altogether.
